Circus of Fools, Day 9: No news like good news

(Oddly enough the name of the last link really seems to have nothing to do with the actual subject)

There is no excuse for what both sides and all three parties are doing to this country and I am not just talking about the current debacle going on in DC, but every bit of dishonesty and chicanery that has come off the Hill over say the past ten years or so. Bush played the game with his 4.5 Trillion dollars in war debt. Obama continued it with his “Shovel Ready” job program which didn't quite accomplish what it was supposed to. The Democrats, Reboobicans and Tea Beggars have pretty much turned DC into the Capital of NO with their inability to come to even the slightest agreement. Each side points fingers at the other side and blames them for the disaster that is our current Leadership.
Excellent example of this is the Boobs demands for negotiation over a law that has been passed and upheld. Sorry folks, like it or not that is not how the system works. You can't hold an entire nation hostage and demand concessions. I get that the Tea Beggars feel like they are trying to do what their constituents wanted them to do, but you can't strap a metaphysical bomb to your chest and say, “I demand something is changed or the Country gets it!” If you don't like the law, repeal it. If you can't repeal it, get enough support to get the numbers you need to repeal it. It is that simple.
Does anyone really believe that if positions were reversed that the reactions would be any different. If Romney had been elected instead of Obama and had Nationalized his signature Health Care Law (Which bears a spooky resemblance to the ACA) without any support from the Damnocrats and They pulled the same Shift that the Tea Beggars are pulling, do you really think that the Boobs would say, “Sure, we can work something out.” We'd still be in the same poop, just someone else would be shoveling it.
Now lets flip that coin over. The Democrats are refusing to consider piece meal efforts to reopen certain aspects of the Fed. They are arguing for the all or nothing method. They preach that the only way to solve this problem is to get everything open. Whereas I can understand this attitude simply because the Circus Train (Bet you guy didn't think that I could ever mix the Circus and Train wreck metaphors I have been using, did you?) we are riding on is headed for a crash in just over a week, I think it could make the Boobs more amiable to some sort of negotiations if the POTUS did allow some piece meal legislation through. Again, you can bet if the foot was in the other mouth, the Dims would be desperately trying to do exactly what the Pubs are doing right now.
Now I bet you are wondering what all this ranting has to do with the two links I posted at the beginning. Oddly enough, so am I. I think I went off on a tangent. Wait! Now I remember. So I was watching the live Circus...Um Press Conference that talked about the efforts of the White House to ensure that death benefits were paid to grieving families. (Don't believe the hype currently coming off the Hill. Congress knew about the lapse in benefits and made no actions whatsoever. Only the WH took some form of action in this case. That is a fact no matter what the propagandists will claim. Admittedly this should have never been an issue in the first place, but hey better late than never.) Now where was I? OH YEAH!
So as I am watching the very goofy and inept looking press type person trying to deal with the press, one particular incident reminded me of exactly what is wrong with the so called News System today. A Reporter asked when the President found out about the problem and when he moved to fix it. The Press Guy very plainly stated that he did NOT know the exact time the President was informed and went on to make the usual blather about “taking immediate action, contacting his lawyers” Yadda Yadda. So problem solved right? Press Guy tells reporter quite plainly that he doesn't know as in “Hey I don't know the answer to to the question you asked. End of story?
Wrong, not only does the same guy ask the question a half dozen more times but the very next reporter asks the same danged question! Really? The guy gave you his answer. Hells, even if he was lying through his teeth (which is entirely possible, he does work for politicians) do you really think making him mad with the same question over and over again. Heck if was me, it'd only peeve me off even more and ensure you don't even get the party line answers on my little cheat cards.
With some very few exceptions, our News system has become a very bad running joke. The advent of 24/7 news and shudder Commentary Shows disguised as news has turned the air waves into bad theater. The Big News Sets are divided into armored camps surrounding their party of choice's banner. (Keep in mind I am still talking about the Talking Head shows like Fox and Friends, O'Reilly Factor, Crossfire and the Lead) Sadly the closest thing to news I ever come across in the Commentaries is Piers Morgan and he mostly just rags on the US.
Nobody really wants real news anymore or at least it seems that way lately. They want “Real” News that has been slanted in such a way as to appeal to their beliefs. We talk about how bad things are in DC and they are truly shameful, but we also need to start seeing these so-called News shows for what they are. We need to try to see past the propaganda crap being put out and look for the truth. Not the Democrat truth or the Republican truth, but the real truth. That is the only way we will ever be able to move past this “Us or Them” mentality and actually be able to fix things.
End of Rant
