To Coup or Not To Coup (With all respect to Willie Shakespear)

Okay at the risk of sounding more offensive than normal, lets call a Spade a spade. People have been dancing around the whole “Is it a Coup or isn't is a Coup” since this Bullshift started. Some argue that the Military forces took control after the elected president went berserk with power and had to be stopped. Others argue that the military took over because they didn't want the Muslim Brotherhood to regain any sort of power base. I am no expert on political matters or military matters, but I am pretty sure the point just became moot.
When a Force in charge of any government resorts to wholesale slaughter of mostly unarmed civilians, it officially becomes something that is pretty much the exact opposite of Free and Open. When a Government is so fearful of peaceful (and up until these attacks occurred, they were peaceful) that it murders its populace then we definitely have some major issues. With the actions of the Military/Interim Government, the question of Coup or No Coup (God I love that show, Howie Mandell is the Bomb. Huh, what did you say? Deal or No Deal not... Oh sorry about that. Carry on.)
Sadly the US and other Egyptian “allies” have still not taken any actions to sanction this. Sure we have heard some pseudo strong words from Clinton and Kerry (Affectionately known as Frick and Frack. I'll leave you to decide which is which.) but no real action. I mean we can't afford to alienate one of the few nations in the ME that at least pretends to like us, can we? People are dead and the “Government” has promised to use live ammunition on anyone else who rises up so the death toll is sure to rise.
Now folks, I could care less about the whole ME fiasco. The US has been meddling either directly or indirectly forever and has accomplished pretty much squat. Off the top of my head I cannot think of a single nation that can serve as a good example anywhere in the Region. 90% of them hate us and the other 10% barely tolerate us. Israel, our so called closest ally, has deliberately broken more treaties during its so-called peace talks than Lindsay Lohan has missed court dates. We actually invaded Afghanistan and Iraq and look what that has gotten us.
I am tired of tolerating a bunch of extremists disguised as Nations just because we need oil. I am tired of sending billions of dollars a year in money and military in not so subtle bribes in the vain hope they might make nice nice with us. And I am so very very tired of our Ruling Regime turning their heads as hundreds of people are murdered.
It is high time we essentially said, “Okay play nice with each other or no more presents from us.” Sure it will probably piss them off and they might (I say might because what else do most of these countries have to sell but oil and the US is one of the largest purchasers of said oil.) cut off our oil. But hey we need to work on alternative energy sources anyways so that might actually be a good thing.
The simple fact is that if any other nation we associate with (UK, Japan etc) did what is happening in the ME right now, we'd be (literally up in arms) about it. We wouldn't tolerate Britain mowing down a bunch of protesters objecting to the newest Cricket Uniform Colors. After all why do we care of we piss one of those countries off, we have lots more allies in Europe. But since we are so desperate for anything resembling a friendly face in the ME we simply look the other way.
Brew Long and Prosper
