Now I know what you are thinking, but this little rant isn't about
Manning leaking classified information. It isn't a discussion on
Gender Identity. It isn't even a chat about whole idea that
criminals in our nation's prisons need to be made to feel comfortable
with themselves and their surroundings. Most of my own personal
feelings about Manning and what he did will remain my own. However
after reading the above link, I am forced to make one feeling public.
IS HE NUCKING FUTZ?
Ahem, excuse me. Okay so let me give you the basic idea
behind the article just in case you are in a hurry. Manning has
announced to the world that He is actually a She and has even changed
his name to Chelsea. Okay, I support that. She has also announced
that she wishes to receive hormone therapy so that she can look more
like the woman that she believes she was born to be. And here is
where the crazy comes in.
Manning will be in prison for at least the next 7 years.
Manning will be in a MENS prison for the next 7 years. You know a
prison filled with people who haven't seen a woman in years if not
decades. So Manning wants to spend nearly a decade locked up with
horny, desperate men while looking like a woman. The mind boggles.
Now some are suggesting that this is a ploy to get
transferred to a Woman's Prison for a possibly cushier life. Others
are suggesting that it is an attempt to get him declared mentally
incompetent and put in Psychiatric Care. I fully support the second
one because anyone who wants to look like a pretty lady in a Mens
Prison for 7 years has obvious mental issues. If it is the first
one, I feel sorry for Manning because it will be literally a case of
out of the frying pan into the fire.
I have read dozens of reports over the years that detail
conditions in prisons and jails and things are just as crazy and just
as mean in a prison filled with women. The same types exist in both
conditions. Now since Manning (If he actually decides to go through
with it) will not be able to get Gender Reassignment Surgery until he
is released from prison, if he is reassigned, that means he will be a
female looking type person with male parts in a prison filled with
horny, lonely women. In no way do I see that ending well.
So Manning is willing to pay for the hormone treatments
and I say GO FOR IT! If that is what she wants and she is willing to
foot the bill, then more power to her. I just don't think that
anyone should be under any delusions that this has any chance of
ending well.
